Who What?
Monday night was Chloe's last soccer game, and at 5:45 it was starting to get a little chilly. So being the good mom that I am, I took a long sleeve shirt thinking I would get it on her before the game started. No such luck. So just after the third quarter started, I went over to her on the sidelines and told her that we were going to put her shirt on. She looked up at me, looked around at all the other people and asked, "How are we going to get that on without everyone seeing my 'who-has'?" WHO-HAS? You are six! You don't have any such things!! Needless to say, it was one of those parental moments I know that I should not laugh at, but could not resist!!!

A Happy Return
Todd and I drove to Las Vegas, taking our time and doing some sight seeing along the way in Colorado and Utah. If you have never been that way (driving), you should! It was some of the most beautiful landscape you have ever seen. Anyway, we left Chloe with my parents for the week, and she was having a great time, mostly. On Friday afternoon, she gave my mom a note that she wrote at school that said, "Dear Nana, Thank you so much for letting me stay with you, I had a great time! I love you very much! But I am not coming over here for two weeks once Mommy and Daddy get home!! Love, Chloe". I laughed so loud!
Then Friday night, she was in the car alone with my dad (Papa) and she told him that she had "had enough of Nana and Papa" and could not wait for her Mommy and Daddy to get home! Lastly, today at Walmart, we ran into my mom. She was just checking out and we were coming in the door, so she asked Chloe if she wanted to go with her while I stayed and shopped. Chloe looked at her very seriously and says, "Nana, it has not been two weeks!". I about lost it in the middle of Walmart!
Do you think we were missed?

A Funny
Today was my mom's birthday, so when I picked Chloe up from school we headed to the mall. After spending 45 minutes in Hallmark finding the perfect card, we were were ready to go! On our way out the front door, I heard a familiar voice and my brother just happened to be sitting in Panera having lunch. So Chloe and I sat for a bit and visited with him. When it was time to go, I looked at Chloe and said, "We're off", and her response without missing a beat was "like a dirty shirt!" LOL :)

Dreaded Phone Call
I got one of those phone calls today, caller id said it was from Chloe's school. So I answered, not knowing what to expect. It was the nurse saying that she had fallen at recess and scraped her face, hands and shoulder. She had spent about 1/2 hour in the nurse's office with an ice pack, and had gone back to class. When I picked her up, she had quite the set of scratches all up and down the left side of her face. My poor baby!!!
Sleepover Failure :(
Friday afternoon, I picked up two little girls instead of one. They were so excited, they were like little bouncing balls! They did not know what they wanted to do first! So we went home to drop stuff off, and they decided they wanted to go ride in the combine with my dad. Unfortunately, by the time we got there, he was done for the day. So, we stopped by Nana and Papa's house to play with the kittens and on the swingset. After awhile, they decided it was time for dinner. So we went to go rent movies and drive through McDonald's. After 26 minutes in the drive thru (UGH!, last time I checked it was a FAST FOOD restaurant), we headed home to play.
They were having a great time, no arguing or fighting. It looked like she was going to stay. Long about 10pm, she came out and said she wanted her mommy. No tears, but you could tell she was sad. So we called her mommy, and she said she would come and pick her up. Emma decided she wanted to wait a little longer, so we played a little more. But at 11pm, we called mom and she came and got her. :( Chloe was sad, but she said that if she was spending the night away, she would miss her mommy too! (That made me feel good)
So our first experience with a friend sleeping over did not go so well. So now we know that afternoon playdates will probably work out much better!

Just a LITTLE excited!
This morning I woke up feeling like crap. I figured it was just my allergies, but I was not quite sure, so I made a doctor's appointment. But as Chloe was leaving for school, I told her that if I was not feeling better, we would have to postpone the slumber party. I don't know if I have ever seen such devistation on a little face.
Fast forward to the doctor. She had some good and some bad news. The good news was that I did not have strep throat, the bad was that I have pink eye! ICK! But 24 hours of eye drops and I will no longer be contagious!!! That means the slumber party is back on!!!
Chloe talked to her friend tonight on the phone and they made such big plans, like painting her dad's toenails once he was asleep! I love that she is so excited about tomorrow, it was all that she could do to get to sleep tonight! I hope it is everything that she expects it to be!

The First Slumber Party
I have been home sick for the last two days and avoiding most unknown phone calls. However, today I answered the phone to find one of Chloe's friends' parents on the phone. She proceeded to ask me if I knew anything about the note that Chloe sent home with Emma (her daughter). I had to say no, as Chloe had mentioned nothing to me about it. Well, long story short, Chloe sent home notes with three of her friends asking them to spend the night at our house Friday night. She provided our address, phone numbers and a box to check yes or no. :) How could one turn down that request? So I proceeded to tell the mom that her daughter was welcome to come home with Chloe on Friday and spend the night with us.
I decided to call Chloe at mom's, as she had picked her up from school, and asked her about the note. She got really quiet, and said, 'you already know about it'. I said yes, I knew about it and that I had told Emma's mom that she could spend the night with us. She was excited, but I did not know how much until my mom called me back and said Chloe was beaming like a thousand christmas trees! She was SO excited!
I have since contacted the other two moms to let them know that their daughters could stay. One of them is still a little apprehensive, and I can completely understand that. I know I would be the same way if Chloe was spending the night somewhere else. I am just glad that we are hosting the party! Be sure to tune in later for results of the evening!
